The most unique C&R tournament in competitive walleye fishing, the Calling Lakes Classic is entering in to it’s third year with IOMPresents here in 2019, and we are changing things up by going a little “old school”.  We are bringing back the $10,000 Guaranteed Cash Prize for any team skilled – and lucky – enough to be in 1st place on both days!!!!  Any team capable of earning it will be called the “Calling Lakes Conquerors”!

Now, that’s the upgrade if you can take 1st place BOTH days, but what if you are the hot sticks on Ketepewa and Mission, but couldn’t come up with a winning strategy for Echo and Pasqua?  What if you’re a legend on Day Two, but you just didn’t have the time to practice for Day One?  The CLC is notorious across North America as a walleye tournament where whatever you do on Day One doesn’t work on Day Two, and we want to recognize that.  We’re therefore offering payouts for the Top Five Teams in addition to the Big Fish for EACH Day!  That’s right - $7,000 cash and prizes* for both Saturday AND Sunday!!!

We are also offering an Early Bird Draw of $1,000 for teams registered before July 19th!  Get your entries in early to win double your entry fees back!  How cool is that!

Despite all the changes, the CLC will still be the same great tournament you’ve come to expect, including the fabulous supper Saturday night, the best bar in tournament fishing, and the challenge of fishing four lakes over two days.

James E. Turner

James Turner has been the driving force behind the CLC since taking over in 2017, and couldn't have made a better choice of event given his love of fishing, passion for marketing and belief in community involvement.

Calling Lakes Classic was the first of many tournaments that James added to his list of events, after Glen Boehme, who revived the tournament in 2015, asked him to step into the Directors role.  James' vision for the Calling Lakes Classic is to once again make it the not-to-be-missed event it once was.

Through his work with both the Saskatchewan Sportfish Research Group and the Government of Saskatchewan , James and his team have helped spread the word about conservation in the fisheries and education about invasive species issues.  It is his hope that educating the masses will ensure the fisheries will survive and thrive for future generations to enjoy!

Back Often

As incredible as being part of the CWT is for us, we wanted to do a little more for our anglers, particularly those that come out to participate in all three of our walleye tournaments here in Saskatchewan, so we created the Sask Slam.  We have prize categories based on overall performance at each of the three qualifiers - Team of the Year, Angler of the Year, and Big Fish of the year.  The Sask Slam also has the “Win A Shopping Spree” component, which provides anglers at each of the three tournaments a chance to win a $500 Gift Certificate to one of the promotional partners!
