This fishery is as unique as the city that supports it!
The Estevan area is home to one of the most unique and exceptional bass fisheries at Boundary Dam. Thanks to SaskPower’s Boundary Dam Power Station and the warm waters it creates, the Boundary Dam Reservoir is the only place in Saskatchewan to fish for Largemouth Bass.
The “Prairie Jumpers” have become an almost legendary fish for those that know of them, but to date there aren’t that many that do. We’d like to change that, helping Estevan to capitalize on the drawing power these fish and the story behind them has.
As many of you know, there has been a bass tournament at Boundary Dam for several years now. With last year’s tournament organizers stepping back from the event, the City of Estevan has invited IOMPresents to take over the tournament, providing long term stability to the event and helping to elevate both the tournament and the bass fishery itself in to the international attractions that they should be.
IOMPresents has been successfully running catch & release tournaments here in Saskatchewan since 2015. We currently manage three Central Walleye Trail Qualifying Tournaments at Rafferty Reservoir, Fort Qu’Appelle, and Madge Lake in Duck Mountain Provincial Park. The Boundary Bass Classic (BBC) will join those events here in 2018, and we expect it to become the glittering star of our annual fishing tournaments!
